Primary Purpose:
Facilitate the implementation of engaging STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning experiences by facilitating hands-on instruction, technology lessons, lab activities, and student support. Foster curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while helping create an innovative and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success in STEM disciplines.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of STEM concepts and instructional practices
Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools
Ability to facilitate hands-on, project-based learning environments
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage student behavior
Understanding of child and adolescent development
Ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds
Experience:
Experience working in a STEM-related field or educational setting preferred
Experience facilitating project-based or hands-on learning activities preferred
Experience mentoring or working with students in academic or extracurricular settings preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Support:
Assist in developing and implementing STEM curriculum aligned with district and campus standards
Facilitation of hands-on learning experiences and laboratory activities
Prepare instructional materials, equipment, and technology for STEM lessons and labs
Assist teachers in integrating technology and digital tools into instruction
Provide individual and small group support to reinforce concepts and skills
Student Growth and Development:
Monitor and assess student progress through assignments, projects, and activities
Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration among students
Provide mentorship and academic support to students
Classroom Management and Organization:
Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging STEM lab environment
Manage student behavior in accordance with district policies and procedures
Ensure proper use, care, and storage of lab equipment and materials
Follow all safety protocols and procedures related to STEM activities
Communication:
Maintain positive and professional communication with teachers, students, parents, and staff
Collaborate with educators to support interdisciplinary learning and instructional goals
Engage with the school community to promote STEM education and initiatives
Professional Growth and Development:
Participate in professional development to stay current with STEM education trends and practices
Comply with state, district, and school policies and procedures
Attend staff meetings and collaborate with campus teams as required
