TITLE: Retail Sales Associate
SCHEDULE: Tuesday through Sunday. Daily schedules may vary. Weekend work is required, with potential shifts on a rotational basis.
COMPENSATION: $17-$19/hour, approximately 15-30 hours per week
STATUS: Seasonal, Hourly, Part-time
START DATE: Early June - August 30, 2026.
REPORTS TO: Retail Sales Manager
DEPARTMENT: Patron Services
WORKS WITH: Box Office personnel, Pillow Store personnel, Patrons, Front of House Staff
SUMMER BENEFITS: Meals during shifts, free access to classes, performances, talks, studio usage, complimentary housing, if necessary.
Jacob’s Pillow seeks a Retail Sales Associate for its on-site retail and online store operations. This position is responsible for conducting sales, managing inventory, and other administrative tasks around opening and closing of the store and shipping online sales.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Completing sales transactions for customers in a computerized sales system.

Managing and reconciling cash drawer.

Assist as needed with the display of merchandise and restocking of inventory.

Assisting with opening and closing duties.

Help manage volunteers.

Provide patrons with information about Jacob’s Pillow and its events.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
-
Previous retail sales and/or customer service experience.

Proficient with numbers, spreadsheets, and reporting.

Ability to work collaboratively.

Strong interpersonal skills

Successful completion of a Background Screening
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

Inventory management desired.

Database and point of sale systems experience preferred. Knowledge of Shopify sales software is preferred.

Bilingual is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Working regularly in wooded areas with exposure to native wildlife including, but not limited to, rodents, ticks, and mosquitos.

Moving items up to 50 lbs alone or with assistance.

Working regularly outdoors in all weather conditions, including inclement weather.

Moving through and between multiple locations throughout the entire campus.

Remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
