Pre-Litigation Personal Injury Paralegal / Caseworker
Personal Injury Experience Required | In-Office Position
Jacobs & Jacobs Injury Law has been advocating for injured people and their families for more than 130 years. We are a family-oriented, values-driven personal injury law firm that believes exceptional client service and great case results come from teamwork, accountability, communication, and genuinely caring about the people we represent.
As our firm continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Pre-Litigation Personal Injury Paralegal / Caseworker to join our team. This is an in-office position for someone who already understands the personal injury claims process and is ready to take ownership of a caseload from intake through settlement.
About the Role
Our pre-litigation paralegals and caseworkers are at the center of the client experience. You will be a primary point of contact for clients throughout their cases, helping them navigate treatment, insurance issues, and the claims process while making sure their files continue moving toward resolution.
We are looking for someone who can balance compassion with accountability. Our clients are often going through one of the most difficult periods of their lives, and they deserve someone who communicates consistently, follows through, anticipates what needs to happen next, and takes genuine ownership of their case.
This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment, so organization, initiative, and the ability to self-manage are essential.
What You’ll Do
- Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from intake through settlement
- Maintain consistent, meaningful communication with clients throughout the life of their case
- Monitor clients’ medical treatment and identify issues that could delay or negatively impact a claim
- Request, obtain, organize, and review medical records, bills, and other case documentation
- Communicate with insurance adjusters, medical providers, lienholders, and other parties
- Investigate and develop claims to ensure files are complete and positioned for the best possible outcome
- Draft correspondence and assist with preparation of demand packages
- Work closely with attorneys during the evaluation, demand, negotiation, and settlement process
- Track deadlines, follow-ups, and outstanding items
- Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date case files
- Proactively identify problems and work with the team to resolve them before they become bigger issues
- Help ensure every client receives the level of communication, attention, and service we expect at Jacobs & Jacobs
What We’re Looking For
- At least 1–3 years of personal injury paralegal or case-management experience is required. Candidates without personal injury experience will not be considered.
- Strong working knowledge of the pre-litigation personal injury process, including medical treatment, insurance claims, medical records, demands, and settlements
- Experience independently managing a personal injury caseload
- Exceptional organization and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive mindset and the ability to recognize what needs to happen next without waiting to be asked
- Ability to prioritize and self-manage in a high-volume environment
- Strong follow-through and personal accountability
- Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a team
- Compassion and patience when working with injured clients
- A genuine desire to help clients successfully navigate the personal injury process
