Role Overview
This newly established leadership role will oversee the full strategic direction of Jacob & Co.’s jewelry division, spanning both fine and high jewelry. The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist, creator, and executor — someone who understands the DNA of the brand and can translate it into jewelry collections that embody Jacob & Co.’s spirit of inspiration, innovation, and audacity.
You will be responsible for shaping a cohesive design identity that connects our jewelry and timepiece worlds, introducing new signature fine-jewelry collections, and spearheading the creation of high-jewelry masterpieces. This includes full ownership of the product lifecycle: market and trend analysis, creative concepting, material selection, development oversight, production alignment, and launch strategy.
You will collaborate closely with our executive leadership, marketing, merchandising, production, and retail teams to build a thriving, profitable jewelry business defined by unparalleled craftsmanship and storytelling.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
- Define and execute the growth strategy for the entire jewelry division, ensuring alignment with Jacob & Co.’s brand identity and business goals.
- Establish a strong and cohesive direction that connects the jewelry and watch divisions.
- Translate trend and performance insights into high-impact product initiatives.
Fine Jewelry
- Develop and launch new signature fine-jewelry collections that reflect the brand’s vision and commercial objectives.
- Reimagine and refine existing core lines to elevate design, desirability, and market relevance.
Collection Restructuring & Strategy
- Lead the strategic review and restructuring of the existing high-jewelry collection, optimizing assortment, narrative, and market positioning.
- Reimagine and reinterpret current high-jewelry pieces into new creations, ensuring innovation, coherence, and alignment with brand DNA.
- Develop clear collection strategies that balance creativity, commercial potential, and technical feasibility.
High Jewelry
- Oversee the end-to-end process of developing new high-jewelry collections, from initial concept and sketches to prototypes and final production.
- Set creative direction and collaborate with designers, gemologists, and artisans to ensure design excellence.
- Approve materials, stones, and technical specifications to guarantee the highest standards of craftsmanship.
- Ensure that all pieces meet Jacob & Co.’s aesthetic and quality benchmarks before launch.
Design & Resource Leadership
- Identify, recruit, and manage top-tier design talent, technical specialists, and production partners.
- Build a high-performing team that combines creative vision, technical skill, and operational efficiency.
- Mentor and inspire the jewelry team, fostering a culture of innovation, precision, and attention to detail.
Production Oversight
- Supervise prototyping, manufacturing, and final execution of high-jewelry pieces.
- Ensure timelines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Troubleshoot design or production challenges while maintaining brand integrity.
Collaboration & Brand Alignment
- Work closely with marketing, communications, and retail teams to align product strategy with brand storytelling and customer experience.
- Provide technical and design input for press features, client presentations, and VIP events.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging techniques to maintain Jacob & Co.’s leadership in high-jewelry innovation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Professional Experience
- 10 years of experience in high-jewelry design, production management, or creative direction in a luxury jewelry environment.
- Proven track record of leading the creation or restructuring of high-jewelry collections.
- Hands-on experience with gem selection, jewelry prototyping, and production execution.
- Strong network of designers, artisans, and luxury jewelry suppliers.
Technical & Creative Competencies
- Expert knowledge of high-jewelry design, gemology, and fine jewelry manufacturing techniques.
- Ability to reinterpret and reimagine luxury jewelry pieces while maintaining brand DNA.
- Strong creative vision coupled with practical understanding of production constraints.
- Knowledge of global trends in high-jewelry design and luxury consumer expectations.
- Experience with luxury brand launches, VIP clienteling, or international high-jewelry events.
- Familiarity with CAD software, rendering tools, and technical jewelry design platforms.
