Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Counselor to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, assisting them in their recovery journey. You will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care in an outpatient setting. Your expertise in various therapeutic techniques will be invaluable in fostering a supportive environment for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to patients through individual and group counseling sessions.
- Assist in crisis intervention and management, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
- Conduct patient assessments and intake evaluations to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Implement therapeutic interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and talk therapy.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions focused on topics such as grief counseling, addiction counseling, and PTSD care.
- Provide education on mental health issues, coping strategies, and resources available for patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities including psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and crisis intervention techniques.
- Previous hospital or clinic experience is highly desirable but not required.
- Strong skills in diagnostic evaluation, and patient care are required.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics.
- Experience in telehealth services is a plus.
- A license or ability to work under limited permit supervision in mental health is required (LMHC, LMHC-D, LMHC-P, LMSW etc)
