Job Summary
The Department of Mathematics at Jacksonville University invites applications for adjunct mathematics positions in Fall 2025 to teach undergraduate courses in the areas of:
• College Algebra
• Precalculus
• Elementary Statistics
These courses are mainly taught in the morning as 75-minute classes, two days a week. The Fall 2025 semester begins Aug. 18, 2025 and ends Nov. 25, 2025.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Adjunct faculty members must perform all job duties associated with teaching courses at the postsecondary level. These duties include
• Providing lectures.
• Writing and grading exams and providing feedback on other assignments.
• Providing prompt responses to student questions.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
Education, Certificates, Licenses, and Experience:
• Earned an advanced degree from an accredited university in Mathematics or Statistics.
• Minimum of 18 graduate credits in the discipline.
• At least two years of teaching experience is preferred.
