What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Assistant Groundskeeper position at Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp?
The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins, are searching for a highly motivated individual to join our Grounds Crew as a Seasonal Assistant Groundskeeper. This position will run February through September. The Seasonal Assistant Groundskeeper will report directly to the Head Groundskeeper.
A member of the International League, the Jumbo Shrimp play their home games at Vystar Ballpark located in Jacksonville, FL.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining the brand-new playing surface at Vystar Ballpark including but not limited to turf areas, infield dirt, mound and home plate areas, bullpens, and warning track
- All cultural practices such as aerifying, verti-cutting, top dressing, edging, and fertility program
- Assist with field tarp and weather-related situations
- Other on-field events
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Preferred experience working in Baseball
- Strong time-management skills
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to professionally interact with coaches, players and team personnel
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift 50lbs and pull/push 75 lbs
- Available to work weekends, holidays, and nights based on schedule
- Available to work a minimum for 40hrs/week
