What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Grounds Crew position at Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp?
The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp are the Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins and are searching for highly motivated individuals to join our Grounds Crew. This position is a Part-Time Hourly position and will report directly to the Head Groundskeeper and Assistant Groundskeeper.
A member of the International League, the Jumbo Shrimp play their home games at Vystar Ballpark in Jacksonville, FL.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining the playing surface at Vystar Ballpark including but not limited to turf areas, infield dirt, mound and home plate areas, bullpens, and warning track
- Assist with Batting Practice setup & breakdown and field prep for Jumbo Shrimp games
- Assist with installing and removing the field tarp quickly, efficiently and in all weather-related situations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong time-management skills
- Good interpersonal skills and able to professionally interact with coaches, players and team personnel
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time
- Ability to work outside and in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50lbs and pull/push 75 lbs
- Available to work weekends, holidays, and nights based on schedule
