Supply Chain Team Lead

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 an hour.

The Food Plant Supply Chain Team Lead will contribute to all phases of food storage, preparation, manufacturing, and packaging process. This includes operation/sanitation/maintenance of Food Plant production and warehouse equipment. Leads are expected to assist in production/preparation planning and making decisions to produce the highest quality goods. It is the responsibility of the Lead to adhere to a safe work environment for themselves and their fellow co-workers. This position reports to the Food Plant Supply Chain Supervisor and is expected to cover the basic duties of the Supervisor when they are not available.

Schedule: Full-time Monday - Friday with occasional weekends and overtime.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform work activities with attention to the highest standards of personnel safety along with food safety and quality processes and compliance while keeping a focus on process improvement.
• Ensure the facility meets health and safety requirements.
• Ensure the Supply Chain team uses PPE properly.
• Perform inventory cycle counts.
• Recognize and correct safety or quality problems.
• Train and supervise new employees, including assisting, overseeing, and training for major equipment (e.g., Computer systems, pallet jacks or forklifts, ribbon blenders, and labelers).
• Provide support as a trained backup for others on vacation and unexpected call-ins in Receiving and the Prep Area.
• Ensure the Supply Chain and Production teams have all necessary resources (materials, tools, people, etc.) for a successful production day.
• Oversee the preparation process and team members meet orders and deadlines while optimizing the efficiency of the preparation process.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure successful production/preparation/packing of goods.
• Provide a hands-on approach, assisting as needed in moving all breads, meats, and cheeses from Receiving to the Food Plant immediately upon arrival.
• Mid-Day Inventory Checks – Count available items per tote near the end of the production day to ensure orders will run at 100% and minimize overage of WIP Inputs.
• Clear the Food Plant of empty in-use totes and returning them to Receiving for immediate reuse to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
• End of Shift – Stow Food Plant equipment, assist Receiving with end of shift organization, and provide coverage as needed, where needed.
• Empty cardboard cages as they fill throughout the day and run the Baler.
• Data Entry – Document various checks and information completely and accurately both on hard-copy documents and in computer systems.
• Attend meetings and training specific to the title, holding a key role as a member of the ERP team.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  
  

Skills/Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Previous experience working in a food production factory is preferred.
• Ability to become Forklift certified is required.
• Must read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Bilingual a plus.
• Experience with food packaging equipment is preferred.
• Strong ability to identify and analyze problems and implement solutions.
• Experience using Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
• Able to stand for 2-3 hours at a time.
• Ability to lift, up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a constant 40-degree environment.
• Physical dexterity.
• Available for shift work.
• Will be required to remove Piercings, Jewelry, etc. in compliance with USDA food safety protocols.
