Make a real difference as a travel Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Silver Spring, MD. You will work with patients recovering from injury or illness in an outpatient clinic setting, helping them improve mobility, reduce pain, and regain function under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited educational program.
- Active Maryland PTA license required to start the assignment.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA or ARC preferred. State or facility may require BLS at start.
- Experience in outpatient orthopedics or outpatient rehabilitation preferred.
- Familiarity with therapeutic modalities and interventions commonly used in outpatient settings, including therapeutic exercise, balance and gait training, and modalities such as ultrasound, hot/cold packs, and TENS preferred.
- Ability to implement treatment plans and document patient progress per clinic standards.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling, infection control, and equipment use.

Standard Job Description
Embrace organizational values that prioritize quality, teamwork, and safety. Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs established by the Physical Therapist. Assist with therapeutic interventions including posture training, strengthening, endurance/cardiac training, balance and coordination exercises, joint mobility, pain relief, and functional skills training. Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, or assistive devices. Demonstrate and instruct in modalities such as whirlpools, hot/cold packs, paraffin, TENS, therapeutic pools, ultrasound, iontophoresis, and others as appropriate to the clinic. Monitor patient response, document progress, and provide patient and family education. Maintain professional relationships with patients and staff, participate in team conferences and quality improvement projects, and comply with clinic policies and infection control procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
