You will evaluate patients, develop and modify treatment plans aligned with patient goals and physician direction, and provide discipline-specific therapy services. Responsibilities include designing functional treatment programs for return to community activities, patient and family education, documentation, student supervision when applicable, and participation in professional development and performance improvement activities. You will follow state practice acts, maintain licensure, and uphold organizational safety and conduct standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
• Active Virginia state license required to start the assignment.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
• Experience in outpatient physical therapy preferred, including comprehensive patient evaluation, treatment planning, and progress toward discharge.
• Competence in medical record documentation, goal writing, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with regulatory and payer requirements.
• Ability to participate in student supervision and demonstrate professional development activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with functional, community-focused treatment programs and safe patient handling procedures.
• Familiarity with performance improvement initiatives and clinical outcome measurement.

You will contribute to patient and employee safety practices, including safe patient handling, infection control, and environmental hazard awareness.
