What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist - Travel Contract position at Jackson Therapy Partners?
Make a meaningful difference as a travel OT in Houston, TX. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to help patients with injuries, illnesses, or disabilities regain or improve daily living skills while gaining experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited educational program.
- Current, active, unrestricted Occupational Therapist license for the State of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
- Experience with inpatient rehabilitation preferred. (Preferred)
- Familiarity with common rehab equipment: hoyer lifts, wheelchairs, rollators, NuStep, gait training devices, hospital beds, bed/chair alarms, oxygen tanks, pulse oximeters, and blood pressure machines preferred. (Preferred)
- Experience using Meditech EMR preferred. (Preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Inpatient rehabilitation experience.
- Strong time management and interpersonal skills.
Assignment Details
- Shift hours: 08:00–17:00.
- Shift days: Prefer schedule Tuesday through Saturday; possible alternating weekends.
- Unit: Inpatient Rehabilitation, 20 beds, typical patient ratios 4–6.
- May be required to float to acute care or outpatient areas as needed.
- EMR used: Meditech.
- Typical duties: OT evaluations and daily treatments.

Impacting Patient Care
Provide occupational therapy services in an inpatient rehabilitation setting to support patient recovery and functional independence. Work within an interdisciplinary team that includes PT, OT, SLP, RNs, and therapy technicians. Contribute to evaluations, treatment planning, and discharge planning using established unit policies and procedures.
