About the Role
We are a fast-growing low-voltage deployment partner supporting nationwide rollouts for major integrators. We are seeking a Traveling Lead Technician who can run small crews, deliver high-quality installations, and represent our company professionally onsite.
This role is hands-on and requires regular travel. Projects typically involve installing wireless access points (APs) and CAT6/CAT6A cabling in commercial environments.
You will NOT be stuck in a warehouse or on service tickets — this is project-based installation work with consistent travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise 1–3 techs during installation projects
- Install and test wireless access points and network cabling
- Label, dress, and terminate CAT6/CAT6A cabling (Panduit, Leviton, etc.)
- Read basic floor plans and follow project scope
- Complete daily reports and photo documentation
- Ensure work meets quality and safety standards
- Communicate professionally with onsite contacts and project managers
- Identify issues and escalate when needed
- Maintain tools, inventory, and materials onsite
- Travel 1–3 weeks at a time as scheduled
Requirements
Must-Have:
- 3 years low-voltage installation experience
- Strong experience with:
- CAT6/CAT6A terminations
- J-hooks, pathways, mounting hardware
- AP installation (Ceiling tiles, drywall, ladder work)
- Ability to lead small crews onsite
- Comfortable using mobile apps for reporting
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background check
- Willing and able to travel nationwide (air hotel)
Nice-to-Have (NOT required):
- Experience with:
- Fluke testing
- Lift certification (scissor/genie)
- Warehouse or retail environments
- Basic network understanding (not configuration)
- BICSI or manufacturer certs
We will train the right person on our standards and documentation process.
Schedule & Travel
- 40 hours/week minimum during projects
- Overtime available
- Travel typically Monday–Friday
- Home between projects when possible
- All travel expenses covered:
- flights or mileage reimbursement
- hotel
- daily per diem
- paid drive time
Compensation & Benefits
- $28–$35/hour based on experience
- Time-and-a-half overtime
