The Department of Metro Jackson Community Prevention Coalition is accepting applications for its Senior Prevention Specialist position.
Examples of Duties
This position works under the supervision of the Metro Jackson Community Prevention Coalition Director.
General areas of responsibility include implementation of prevention strategies, best practices, and/or evidence-based curriculums in the Jackson Metropolitan area; collaboration with various community sectors and JSU entities; assist with program sustainability efforts; facilitating community and classroom presentations; report writing; actively working to support all project efforts in providing services and information in impaired driving prevention program design, development, implementation, and evaluation; and maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Typical Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Social Sciences, Social Work, Education, Public Health or Public Administration (equivalent years of experience will be considered for degree L requirement).
1-3 years' experience implementing, preferably in a community-based organization (CBO); experience and knowledge of working with community-based organizations; demonstrated experience working with youth and young adults; excellent communication and presentation skills required; must possess organizational management skills; local travel required.
