Description
The Lottie W. Thornton Early Childhood Center is accepting applications for its Pre-Kindergarten Teacher position.
Examples of Duties
The Pre-kindergarten teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing instruction for children ages 3-5.
The teacher will ensure the development and safety of children under their supervision in accordance with the Mississippi Department of Health Childcare Division regulations and Jackson State University policies.
The teacher will ensure that the equipment and the facility are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
The successful applicant is required to earn 15 contact hours each licensure year by attending conferences and workshops relevant to the development and education of the young child.
Typical Qualifications
A. A. or B. S. degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related degree.
FBI Letter of Suitability for Employment.
Educator License (preferred; not required).
