Jackson’s Fair Deal Cafe is a family owned restaurant located in Omaha, NE. Our mission is to delight every guest with remarkable dining & hospitality experiences that keep them returning.
Jackson’s Fair Deal Cafe is looking for a Server. Our servers are energetic and bring a can do attitude. The Server provides table service to restaurant patrons by taking orders for food and beverages, delivering orders to the table, and ensuring that patrons have a pleasant dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant
- Serve guests beverages and take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of type of drink, etc.)
- Answer questions about our menu or our location
- Answer questions about our service
- Maintain a clean and sanitary restaurant by cleaning the areas as needed, sanitizing surfaces, dishes, utensils, and equipment, and cleaning windows and doors.
- Answer telephone calls and take orders
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Perform opening and closing duties (e.g. opening the door, closing the door, resetting tables, collecting money from customers)
- Prepare for upcoming shifts as needed
- Teamwork with a positive attitude
- Work in a timely manner and be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary
- Be able to communicate with other employees and maintain good relations with customers
Skills & Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant management preferred but not required.
- Ability to communicate with customers effectively (written & verbal)
- Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time while working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
