What are the responsibilities and job description for the Running Backs Coach position at Jackson Reed HS Football?
As a volunteer Running Backs Coach at our high school, you'll play a crucial role in developing the skills, techniques, and mindset of our running backs. You'll work closely with the head coach and other coaching staff to implement offensive strategies, drills, and game plans.
Responsibilities:
1. Player Development: Develop the skills and techniques of running backs through individual and group coaching sessions.
2. Strategy Implementation: Assist in implementing defensive strategies and game plans developed by the coaching staff.
3. Film Study: Analyze game footage to identify areas for improvement and to develop scouting reports on upcoming opponents.
4. Skill Drills: Lead and organize skill-specific drills to improve footwork, ball carrier techniques, catching, and ball skills.
5. Game Preparation: Prepare players mentally and physically for upcoming games, focusing on opponent tendencies and individual matchups.
6. Motivation and Mentorship: Provide encouragement, motivation, and mentorship to players, helping them to develop not only as athletes but also as individuals.
7. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other coaches and staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to player development and team success.
8. Compliance: Ensure adherence to all school, district, and league rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
1. Football Knowledge: Deep understanding of running back techniques, strategies, and fundamentals.
2. Coaching Experience: Previous coaching experience at the high school level or higher, preferably with a focus on running backs.
3. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively teach and motivate players.
4. Leadership: Ability to lead and inspire players to reach their full potential.
5. Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively with other coaches and staff members for the success of the team.
6. Availability: Availability to attend practices, games, and team events as required by the coaching staff.
7. Background Check and Drug Test: Must pass a background check and drug test in accordance with school and district policies.
