Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, social, and emotional challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify students in need of support and develop intervention strategies.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students' needs and progress, providing appropriate recommendations for support.
- Facilitate workshops and programs on topics such as conflict resolution, stress management, and career exploration.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation in compliance with school policies and regulations.
- Act as a liaison between students, parents, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Participate in the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives aimed at improving student well-being and academic success.
- Provide crisis intervention and support during emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in school counseling and mental health support.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Valid state certification or licensure as a School Counselor.
- Previous experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Knowledge of counseling techniques, crisis intervention strategies, and educational resources.
- Proficient in using technology and software for record-keeping and communication.
- Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment that supports all students.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
