Jackson Parish Hospital is seeking a full-time Admissions Supervisor. This position comes with a full benefit package. The Admission Supervisor oversees the admissions processes of Jackson Parish Hospital.
Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring that every registration desk is covered at all times; makes rounds to all clinics.
- Prints provider’s daily schedule.
- Verifies ER and Outpatient accounts are correct.
- Looks over EWS schedule.
- Performs Customer Service to help resolve any patient issues.
- Approves time for Administrative Techs and maintains their attendance calendars.
- Creates schedule for ER and Outpatient staff on a monthly basis; performs some clerical duties such as scanning and answering phones.
- Corrects split account; corrects any incorrect dates on accounts.
- Checks registration follow-up reports.
- Completes QA reports.
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary to support the Business Office.
- Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times.
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time frames.
- Attends staff meetings as scheduled.
- Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
- Adheres to JPH policies and procedures.

Requirements
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum of (1) year of related work experience and supervisory experience preferred.

LANGUAGE and PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work alone or with minimal supervision.
- Professional/Courteous rapport with patients, families, co-workers, physicians and visitors.
- Ability to work under and handle stress in an appropriate manner.
- Ability to work long hours between breaks and meals, if necessary.
- Basic computer competency. Knowledgeable in Microsoft products including Word and Excel.
MACHINERY/TOOLS/EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot telephone, fax machine, copy machine, computer, and printer/scanner.
