What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Manager position at Jackson Paper Manufacturing Company?
Be an HR Hero
Are you ready to make a real impact? We're looking for an exceptional HR Manager or Senior Generalist to join our tight-knit team in Morganton, NC where collaboration is key. Sustainable Corrugated / Jackson Paper is a stable company with three locations. You'll be the lead HR team member in one of our locations.
Your Role
You'll be our strategic HR partner, supporting transformation while keeping operations running smoothly. Think of yourself as both an insider who knows our culture inside-out and an outside consultant who brings fresh perspectives to solve complex challenges.
Note: Depending on your experience, we may offer you a Senior HR Generalist position as your entry point. Either way, don't skip the questionnaire—it's essential to your application!
What You'll Do
Support Strategic HR Initiatives
You'll partner directly with our site managers and leadership team to turn business goals into actionable HR strategies. You'll own workforce planning, guide our hiring process, and build succession plans for our critical manufacturing roles. Your programs will directly support our business priorities, and you'll be the go-to advisor for everything from culture-building to major transformations.
Shape Our Talent Strategy
You'll design how we attract and hire manufacturing talent. You'll build our employer brand to make us irresistible to top candidates, create skills-based career pathways, and help our people grow with us.
Navigate Complex Employee Relations
When challenging situations arise, you'll step in. You'll handle our most complex employee relations cases, lead workplace investigations, and work alongside legal and compliance partners. You'll also craft and interpret HR policies that keep us compliant with manufacturing regulations while supporting our people.
Drive Compensation & Analytics
You'll manage payroll for one or more sites, ensure our processes are competitive and fair, and support annual planning. Using workforce data, you'll spot trends, identify opportunities, and help shape our total rewards strategy—including performance incentives that motivate our manufacturing teams.
Champion Organizational Excellence
You'll lead initiatives that move us forward. You'll support managers to become better leaders, introduce agile HR approaches, and champion the smart use of technology (yes, including AI!) in our processes. Diversity and fair treatment? You'll be their biggest advocate.
Manage Risk & Compliance
You'll ensure we're always on the right side of employment law and manufacturing safety regulations. You'll lead audits, develop crisis protocols, and keep us ahead of regulatory changes that affect our industry.
