Role Description The Safety Compliance Specialist – Colorado Springs will be responsible for supporting and monitoring safety programs for projects and operations managed from the Colorado Springs, CO location. This is a full-time, on-site role that involves daily presence in the field and office to ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company policies. Day-to-day tasks include conducting site inspections, identifying hazards, and recommending corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment. The specialist will develop and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and orientation sessions for team members and subcontractors. Additional responsibilities include performing accident and incident investigations, preparing reports, maintaining safety records, and assisting in the implementation of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives. The role will collaborate closely with project managers, supervisors, and crews to promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Health & Safety, Occupational Health, and Environment Health and Safety (EHS) principles and practices.
- Experience delivering Safety Training, including site orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety education.
- Proven ability to conduct thorough Accident Investigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
- Knowledge of relevant OSHA and state regulations applicable to construction or infrastructure environments.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with field and office teams.
- Ability to work on-site in Colorado Springs, CO, with regular field visits and occasional travel as needed.
- Preferred: prior experience in construction, utilities, or infrastructure projects; safety certifications such as OSHA 30, CHST, or CSP.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental science, or a related field is a plus.
