What are the responsibilities and job description for the PCA Personal Care Assistant (Summer/Temporary) position at Jackson Household?
We are looking for a personal care assistant to support our 9 year old son with developmental delays in our home. He's a sweet and happy little boy and can always find a way to put a smile on your face! We're looking for someone that is interested in helping him with his therapy exercises and doing enrichment activities in our home and in the community while we're running errands or working. This means a fair amount of lifting, carrying, and transferring as well as providing physical support and assistance. We expect you to be polite, reliable, and a good communicator. Experience working with children and specifically those with special needs is ideal.
This position will specifically be looking for someone that can work weekdays during the summer school break period beginning June 4th 2026 and ending August 28th or September 2nd. Daily shift hours have some flexibility, but would be roughly 8 AM to 4 PM. Total hours available of 32-40 hours each week.
Responsibilities
- Help client dress, bathe, feedings, etc.
- Assist client with therapy exercises
- Prepare G-tube feedings
- Do necessary housekeeping to maintain a clean environment
- Provide emotional support
- Transport client to/from community activities as needed
