Summary of Responsibilities
The Billing Specialist/Junior Accountant plays a vital role in supporting patient care and organizational success by managing insurance communications, claims submission, and accounts receivable, while also maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with state and federal accounting standards. This role requires attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to advocate for patients through timely and accurate billing. Knowledge of psychiatric healthcare processes and medical terminology is beneficial for effective communication and financial accuracy. Qualifications
- High school diploma required, Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2 (two) years of experience in accounting healthcare is preferred.
- Medical office billing experience preferred, Medicaid experience a plus.
- Communication skills to converse clearly over the telephone and in person with verbal and written communication.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in other office products.
