What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Jackson Hospital and Clinic?
To assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, statistical reports, preparation of professional fees, maintain depreciation schedules and employee quarterly tax returns. Responsible for supervising accounting clerks.
Qualifications:
- Education: BS degree in Accounting
- Experience: 2-3 years experience in healthcare accounting; experience with PC’s and related software (wordprocessing and spreadsheets).
- Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: CPA preferred.
- Equipment/Tools/Work Aids: Calculator, personal computer software, telephone, copier and fax.
- Specialized Skills: Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software; working knowledge of accounting principles and functions; ability to compile financial statements, reports and analysis; excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to lead and manage a group of employees; ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to handle various office reports, notebooks, files or file folders on a daily basis. Occasional use of year-to-date/cumulative type reports requiring lifting of approximately 15-20 pounds. Manual dexterity and visual acuity necessary to utilize the PC and calculator; visual acuity also necessary for filing and proofing documents; ability to sit for prolonged periods of time; verbal communications and hearing ability to communicate with a multitude of customers. Ability to meet the attendance requirements of the job.
