What are the responsibilities and job description for the PGY1 Pharmacy Resident position at Jackson Hospital and Clinic?
The Pharmacy Resident provides quality pharmaceutical care by monitoring patients’ medication therapy and assists in developing a clinical pharmacy program. They will also recommend appropriate drug therapy and serve as an educational resource to patients and other health care professionals. The Pharmacy Resident also utilizes a computer system to enter orders, dispense medications and intravenous solutions to patients in an accurate and timely manner and supervises technical employees. The pharmacist checks all technical work before doses are dispensed.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an ACPE-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program. The applicant must be a citizen of the U.S.A. or hold a Visa allowing for the completion of the residency year.

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Must be licensed to work as a registered pharmacist in the State of Alabama no later than ninety days after the start of the residency year, or the resident may be terminated from employment. The resident must adhere to the rules of the resident matching program (RMP) process and utilize the PhORCAS system for the application process.), BCLS provider.
