What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experiences OB Scrub Tech position at Jackson Hospital and Clinic?
FT Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm
The OB Scrub Technologist functions under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) assisting in planning, preparing and setting up for cases and obtaining and managing supplies and equipment. The OB Scrub Tech establishes and prepares the sterile field using aseptic technique and assures sterility is maintained during surgical procedures, passes instruments, blades, sponges, sutures, and other needed objects and is accountable for maintaining an accurate count of all items used during the cesarean section in collaboration with the Registered Nurse. They may assist the surgeon by holding retractors, sutures, or stapling skin under the direct supervision of the surgeon. The surgical technologist may perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Completion of an Operating Room Technician Program in a technical or junior college or completion of an acceptable hospital program unless trained through previous experience required. Minimum of one year OB Tech experience and certification preferred.
