Full-Time Upper School Mathematics Teacher
We are seeking a teacher who is confident teaching the full range of high school mathematics, from
Algebra and Geometry through Calculus, and who can also support student growth in data analysis and
statistics.
The ideal candidate is passionate about working with students in grades 9–12 and building meaningful
relationships. They bring strong content knowledge, a commitment to high-quality instruction, and the
ability to create authentic learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
As a member of the mathematics department, the teacher will foster critical thinking and
communication through inquiry-based learning and reasoning. The department emphasizes
problem-solving, investigation, and the ability to interpret and communicate data in multiple
forms—graphical, numerical, verbal, symbolic, and analytical.
Other responsibilities of a full-time role include, but are not limited to:
- Leading an advisory group of 6-8 students
- Participating in our experiential learning program (Fall Trips, Minimester, and Community Days,
including MLK Day and Indigenous Peoples’ Day)
- Proactive and timely communication with colleagues, parents, and students
- Attending occasional evening/weekend school events
Minimum requirements include:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field; Master’s is preferred
- At least 3 years experience working with high school students
- Ability to facilitate a meaningful, engaging discussion among high school students
