We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality assurance activities within a high-performing manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring that all products meet or exceed industry standards and consistently satisfy customer requirements.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining quality systems, driving continuous improvement, and collaborating across functions to enhance product performance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management System (QMS)
- Maintain and improve the ISO 9001-based Quality Management System (QMS) to enhance compliance, standardisation, and organisational capability
- Support development of procedures, work instructions, and quality records across key areas including receiving, testing, and calibration
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Continuous Improvement & Process Optimisation
- Lead and coordinate root cause analysis activities and drive corrective/preventive actions
- Partner with leadership to identify and implement process improvements
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
Operational Quality Leadership
- Provide strong shop floor presence, supporting production teams and driving quality-focused behaviours
- Lead quality alert activities to address manufacturing and supply chain concerns
- Support testing activities and present analytical findings to cross-functional teams
Receiving & Inventory Quality
- Manage receiving inspection processes, including sampling, measurement, and acceptance criteria
- Monitor internal and supplier quality performance, identifying trends and initiating corrective actions
Field Return & Failure Analysis
- Lead investigation of returned products, ensuring accurate fault classification and root cause identification
- Collaborate with customer-facing and technical teams to resolve field issues
- Produce clear, traceable reports using standard tools and systems
New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Support product development teams with quality planning and validation activities
- Develop and validate test protocols to ensure product accuracy and functionality
- Contribute to structured product development processes (e.g., APQP)
Requirements
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical discipline
- Certifications such as CQA, CQE, or similar strongly preferred
- Additional training such as OSHA 10-hour is advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Quality leadership or management role
- Background in manufacturing environments, ideally high-mix / low-volume or build-to-order
- Experience in industries such as mechanical, industrial, hydraulics, or quality engineering
Skills & Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of quality tools (e.g., control charts, root cause methodologies)
- Knowledge of Lean principles (formal training preferred)
- Ability to perform and present statistical analysis effectively
- Competent in technical documentation (procedures, work instructions, visual aids)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, Visio, PowerPoint)
- Electronics background (academic or military) is a plus
Additional Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in multi-functional and multicultural environments
- Comfortable collaborating across international teams
- Basic Spanish comprehension is beneficial
- Willingness to travel (~10%) to customer or partner sites
- Flexible approach to working hours based on business needs
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform hands-on tasks, including occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
- Capability to pass a visual acuity test (corrected vision acceptable)
- Comfortable working in a practical, shop floor environment
