Join our team as a Cath Lab Tech (Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) and play a vital role supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in a hospital setting in Louisiana. Assist physicians and Cath Lab personnel in conducting essential procedures and operate advanced imaging and hemodynamic equipment to capture critical data for patient care.

What You'll Need:

• Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology, an associate’s degree in a healthcare-related field, or acceptable equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Radiography (R) by ARRT required or modality-appropriate state licensure. Louisiana: LRT (R) or (F) by LSRTB required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required from the American Heart Association.
• 0-1 year of experience in an acute care or hospital Cath Lab setting preferred. Experience with diagnostic and interventional heart catheterizations, structural heart procedures (including TAVR and Watchman), electrophysiology, and peripheral angiography preferred.
• Familiarity with cath lab equipment and procedures, including fluoroscopy, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), intracardiac echo (ICE), contrast injectors, hemodynamic monitoring systems, and assist devices such as intra-aortic balloon pump and LV assist devices preferred.
• One of the following certifications preferred: RCIS (CCI), RCES (CCI), RCS (CCI), CI/CV/VI (ARRT), RDMS specialties (AB, OB/GYN, AE), or RVT (ARDMS).
• Ability to perform aseptic technique consistently, obtain and document hemodynamic measurements, and act as radiation safety representative during X‑ray use.

Minimum Requirements / Client-Specific Requirements:

• State licensure required based on modality. Louisiana: LRT (R) or (F) by LSRTB.
• Radiography (R) by ARRT or equivalent modality credential as required by client.
• BLS (AHA) required.
• ACLS (AHA) required.
• Experience with a variety of cath lab cases including diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, structural heart procedures (TAVR, Watchman), electrophysiology, and peripheral angiograms preferred.
• Ability to function as radiation safety representative and perform fluoroscopic imaging and digital image acquisition.
• On-call availability per client requirements: on call shifts beginning at end of scheduled day shift through overnight covering weekends and holidays. (On-call expectation described by client.)
• Temp-to-perm potential contingent on open permanent positions.

Assignment Summary

The Catheterization Laboratory Technologist I supports cardiac catheterization procedures by preparing the lab, operating imaging and hemodynamic equipment, documenting patient information and measurements, maintaining aseptic technique, and promoting patient safety. The technologist collaborates with the procedural team, performs fluoro imaging and digital acquisition, assists during scrubbed procedures, and serves as the radiation safety representative. The role requires ongoing competence development in specialized cath lab technologies and adherence to departmental and organizational policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure major equipment is operational and document quality checks. Report equipment issues per hospital process.
• Participate in daily room checks and supply stocking. Configure rooms and equipment for assigned procedures.
• Access and verify patient schedule and information. Ensure accurate entry of patient and procedural data into cath lab systems.
• Obtain and record hemodynamic measurements, ECG recognition, and ensure appropriate patient positioning and access site management.
• Train and complete competencies for cath lab equipment including X‑ray, IVUS, ICE, contrast injectors, hemodynamic systems, rotational atherectomy, thrombectomy, and assist devices.
• Support physicians during scrubbed procedures. Maintain aseptic technique and stop procedures if sterility is breached.
• Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and privacy policies. Support patient transport and departmental productivity standards.
• Promote teamwork, participate in unit councils and process improvement, and support organizational mission and core values.
