Location Perks
The Epic Principal Architect serves as an expert subject matter expert (SME) responsible for the enterprise-level design, strategic oversight, and architectural integrity of assigned Epic modules. Operating with full autonomy, this role leads the most complex, high-risk initiatives and governs system-wide standards to ensure scalable and integrated EHR solutions. The Epic Principal Architect acts as a primary advisor to executive leadership, serves as the final authority for sophisticated technical challenges, and provides expert mentorship across the analyst team to drive organizational excellence.
Responsibilities
Strategic Architecture: Serve as the top-level authority for enterprise-level design and long-term roadmap planning, ensuring system scalability and alignment with organizational goals.
Executive Advisory: Act as a primary advisor to executive leadership and clinical/operational boards, translating high-level business needs into technical strategy and governance models.
Technical Governance: Define and enforce enterprise build standards, validation protocols, and safety/security benchmarks while overseeing high-risk, large-scale implementations and upgrades.
Leadership & Influence: Direct cross-functional teams and mentor junior to senior analysts, providing the final escalation point for the most complex system issues and root cause analyses.
Perform all other tasks as assigned.
Architect complex treatment plans, chemotherapy/immunotherapy protocols, and advanced dosing calculations for enterprise-wide oncology services.
Lead the design and oversight of interfaces with clinical trial systems, specialty pharmacies, and external oncology registries.
Partner with oncology physicians and pharmacy leadership to establish and enforce medication safety validation protocols.
Direct Beacon upgrade strategies and large-scale enhancements to support evolving hematology and oncology clinical standards.
Experience
Generally requires 10 or more years of experience in healthcare IT, clinical, or related field.

Education
- High School diploma is required.
- Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred.
- Pharmacy Degree is preferred.
- Epic certification is required. Candidates must hold at least one Epic certification at the time of hire.
- Additional module-specific Epic certifications may be required based on assigned responsibilities.
- Pharmacist License is preferred.
