Position Summary:
The Communications Specialist will assist in the planning, development, and implementation of communications strategies and activities to support JHS communication and marketing efforts. Communications or public relations specialists may handle public relations, information output, press releases and media requests, social media and/or advertising for the organization. This is a project-oriented position with some oversight and works in a confidential capacity. Position requires exercise of independent judgment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Write, edit, and develop content for multiple platforms, including print, broadcast, and digital, and develop relationships with internal stakeholders to proactively generate this content. Collaborate with service line leaders and other stakeholders (such as news media, marketing agency, outreach consultants) to develop appropriate tactics to grow patient volume, then execute those tactics timely by producing narratives, service overviews, marketing materials, and other content. Participate in team planning sessions and provide innovative ideas, accepting responsibility to lead some initiatives and support others. Creatively leverage relationships to create surprising and delightful engagement that sparks interest and trust in Jackson. Coordinate high volumes of day-to-day traffic among stakeholders and accept responsibility for producing high-quality print, video, digital, and broadcast content in a wide range of formats such as news releases, commercials, advertisements, event activations, and newsletters. Manage ROI (return-on-investment) processes, reports, and other metrics to understand and maximize the impact of communications projects. Understand and interpret industry trends such as KPI data, CRM systems, and remarketing campaigns. Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience:
Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.
Education:
Bachelor's degree OR 5 to 7 years of equivalent experience in related field is required.
License Certification:
Active license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
Knowledge Skill Abilities:
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions.
