Job Title: Senior Director of Operations and Finance

 Location: Scottsdale, AZ

 Employment Type:  Full-Time, Exempt 

 Reports To:  Chief Operating Officer / Principals 

Position Overview

The Senior Director of Operations and Finance will play a central supporting role to the Executive Team across the financial, investment, and administrative operations of the Asset Management Company, and affiliated entities. This hands-on leadership position focuses on day-to-day staff management, providing high-quality support for complex investments, and full ownership of program-managing all capital improvement projects.

 The ideal candidate brings operational excellence, strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and a results-driven, hands-on approach. Backgrounds in program management, management consulting, or financial planning & analysis are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Management & Team Leadership

·      Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and management to the operations team

·      Foster a high-performance culture with emphasis on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Capital Improvements - Program Management (Full Ownership)

·      Own and lead the end-to-end program management of all capital improvement projects across real estate and operating assets.

·      Assist Project Managers in developing comprehensive project plans, detailed timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.

·      Track all projects across all entities progress, vendors and contractors relationships, resolve issues, and ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

·      Provide regular, transparent reporting and updates to the Executive Team and Principals.

    Financial & Investment Support

·      Support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.

·      Provide analytical support for cash management, treasury functions, and liquidity planning.

·      Assist with complex investment analysis, due diligence, portfolio monitoring, and reporting.

·      Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisors, auditors, and investment managers as needed.

·      Support the development and maintenance of financial controls and procedures.

 Strategic & Administrative Support

·      Work closely with the Executive Team and Principals to support strategic initiatives and special projects.

·      Prepare high-quality analysis, presentations, memoranda, and decision-support materials.

·      Identify and recommend operational improvements and efficiencies.

·      Ensure smooth administrative operations and compliance support across entities.

Qualifications & Experience

 Required:

·      Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or CPA strongly preferred).

·      10 years of progressive experience in finance, operations, or consulting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

·      Demonstrated success in asset management, private equity, real estate, or multi-entity environments.

·      Strong hands-on experience in program/project management, especially capital projects and real estate improvements.

·      Solid financial modeling, analysis, and reporting skills.

·      Proven track record managing and developing staff.
