Jacksons is seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant with a high level of skills in Microsoft Excel and data manipulation to join our team. Under limited supervision, this position will conduct complex discrepancy research; process invoices, process/post customer payments and collect past due receivables on assigned customer accounts by means of standard communication both internally and externally in a fast-paced environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare, compile, and sort documents for data entry into accounting systems.
- Evaluate source documents for accuracy, reconcile and verify data for entry, and modify where necessary.
- Process and create customer invoices, daily EFT settlements and post customer payments.
- Set up new customer accounts, ensure receipt of account information and perform verbal confirmations with customer.
- Process vendor invoices through accounts payable software to obtain payment approval according to company policy.
- Communicate with vendors and resolve payment or billing issues.
- Report on daily bank activity to management.
- Process deposits including coding and posting payments.
- Conduct account research and provide support for internal and external customers.
- Other reconciliations, duties or special projects as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Prior accounts receivable, payable, or other accounting related experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiency (Excel test may be required)
- A high degree of effectiveness - You have exceptional attention to detail, can complete work with minimal errors and are able to find solutions to issues.
- Accurate data entry, detail oriented with strong analytical skills and ability to multitask.
- A high level of productivity - You work efficiently, are well organized, and prioritize work properly to meet demands.
- A history of providing excellent customer service and knowledge of collections.
- The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization.
- Effectiveness in working both as a team and independently with minimal direction.
- Strong initiative, problem solving and resolution skills
