Position Summary:
Assists in clearing right-of-ways and other related requests.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma (GED).
Skills/Abilities:
Must possess mechanical and technical skills. Ability to communicates effectively and maintain professionalism.
Certifications/Licenses:
None.
Physical Demands:
The ability to orally communicate by phone and person to person. The ability to see and read printed material. The ability to lift, carry, and use heavy tools and materials. The ability to climb and perform work from a ladder. The ability to safely operate a standard equipped JEA vehicle. The ability to safely operate standard equipped company grounds maintenance equipment, including tractors and trimmers, etc. The ability to walk many miles per day over rough terrain.
Work Environment:
Outdoors, all weather conditions. Location and work hours are determined by Management and may be adjusted as needed.
Driving:
Must have and maintain a valid TN Class “D” license.
Telephone:
Must maintain an operating telephone and furnish the number to his/her supervisor.

Essential Functions:
- Operates weed-eaters and other equipment in order to maintain sites.
- Operates chain saws and other cutting equipment clear brush and trees.
- Operates bobcat and tractor with various clearing attachments.
- Operates company vehicle to deliver supplies and materials to crews.
- Performs general maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
- Uses pump sprayers and spray rigs to apply chemicals at JEA sites.
- Removes brush and trash from right-of-way areas.
- Assists right-of-way crew with various needs that may include pulling brush, running chipper, and flagging traffic.
- May assist with special projects and special events.
- Unloads and stores supplies, equipment and/or parts.
- Maintains accurate records.
- Interacts with internal and external customers in a professional manner.
- May assist in ordering supplies including chemical supplies.
- Follows company safety guidelines and procedures.
- Performs additional duties as requested.
