School Social Worker

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Exempt Position; 10 months; Full time

SALARY: Salary based upon the NC Salary Schedule, license and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS: School Social Worker NC Educator License required or be qualified to hold a valid/current license; experience working with at-risk children preferred.

DUTIES: Work with students, families, and educators to identify educational needs that affect student learning; use a variety of appropriate formal and informal tools and techniques including observations and interviews to evaluate the progress and performance of students; assist students and family in gaining access to community resources; consult on issues such as attendance, diversity, mental health, behavior management, delinquency, crisis intervention, homelessness, child abuse, and neglect; adhere to ethical, professional, and legal standards; maintain confidentiality of student records and information; other duties assigned by Superintendent or designee.
