JOB TITLE: Operations Technician 1 - Operations & Facilities
JOB STATUS: Non-Exempt
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED:
Performs routine daily maintenance by cleaning restrooms, warehouses, wharves, docks, offices, facilities and general areas. Maintains lawns, roadways, ditches and grounds. Performs daily inspections of warehouses. Monitors ship activities when needed including holidays, weekends and after hours. Helps provide facilities security. Assists facilities personnel as needed and directed by the Operations & Facilities Superintendent.
DESIRABLE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be a high school graduate (GED acceptable). Experience in operating mechanical/lawn equipment and in warehouse operations.
SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS MAY INCLUDE (But are not limited to).
1. Must have the skills necessary to effectively work well with other facilities and operations workers and members of the maritime industry.
2. Must possess the skills necessary to understand and follow the proper operation of the marine facilities.
3. Responds to call-out duty and emergencies after normal working hours (24 hours a day).
4. Must be able to work in unprotected heights.
5. Must be able to work around dust, fumes, and gases.
6. Must be able to work around automotive equipment, moving machinery and heavy equipment.
7. Must be able to work in all types of climates.
8. Must be able to lift and carry medium loads.
9. Must have a strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
10. Must be insurable on the Port Authority’s auto insurance policy.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
