Department: Public Works/Facilities Grade: 220 Salary: $56,036 - $86,851/year Job Duties: Responsible for providing supervision, guidance, and work direction to facilities management employees at the Community Justice Building, Criminal Justice Center and Detention Facility. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and facilities, is given general assignments, allowed operating discretion, and is on call 24 hours to respond to building emergencies . Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. A minimum of five years of related work experience Additional experience above the required 5 years will substitute for the education on a year-for year basis. Must possess/maintain valid Driver's License. Must submit to and pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen. Additional Job Description: Jackson County is seeking a qualified Building Superintendent for our new state-of-the-art Correctional Facility. This new 395,000 square foot facility is scheduled to be substantially completed in December 2025. The position will provide oversight and leadership of the technicians assigned to the site. The ideal candidate will have experience in transitioning from construction to maintenance operations, central plant operations, and preventive maintenance programs.
