Job Summary: Under the administrative direction of the COO and medical direction of a qualified Pathologist, the Laboratory Director is responsible for the administrative operation of the department; the maintenance of all policies, procedures and quality control practices; the management and supervision of the technical and clerical staff; the administration of the departmental budget; and the maintenance of effective physician and intradepartmental relations. Regulatory Requirements and Education: * Bachelor's degree from an approved college or university in a scientific field or Medical Technology. * ASCP (or equivalent for Laboratory) registry required. Experience: * 5 years previous acceptable experience and work history in the Management or Assistant Management of a hospital Lab Department required.
