Job Summary: Promotes and exemplifies the philosophy and mission of Jackson County Memorial Hospital; Administrator of computer based learning system; creating courses and problem solving software; coordinates employee, patient, and public educational programs; assists in the coordination of department activities to expedite workflow, maintains the education records on all employees; and collaborates with the Director to ensure that the goals of the department functions are being met and are achieving the department mission.

Demonstrates Competency in the Following Primary Duties:
- Maintains accurate educational records on all employees.
- Promotes timely training completion with all employees.
- Creates learning courses in the computer based learning system.
- Responsible for the input of the specific educational programs required for each employee.
- Responsible for staying abreast of any changes in the computer based learning system and collaborating with the department Director to accommodate the implementation of the changes.
- Assists employee with any questions for problems that may arise while they are completing the educational programs.
- Coordinates educational programs (webinars, classes, etc.).
- Proctors and grades competency test as assigned.
- Responsible for correspondence, filing, copying and data input necessary for the department.
- Communicates monthly activities to department head by the 10th of every month.
- Assists with registering DCE or other Education patients as needed.
- Creates attendee completion cards, certificates, etc. as needed for classes and/or programs.
- Presents Education Center information at New Employee Orientation weekly to new employees
- Performs job specific duties and all other duties as assigned in a timely and accurate manner.
Professional Requirements:
- Demonstrates good attendance and punctuality. Reports to work on time and as scheduled, uses time and attendance system correctly and completes work within designated time.
- Wears identification while on duty; meets dress code standards; appearance is neat and clean.
- Maintains regulatory requirements: hospital policies, procedures and standards.
- Completes annual health screen and education requirements in a timely manner.
- Communicates to department head regularly and effectively.
- Participates in continuing educational activities as deemed appropriate by department’s director.
- Attends mandatory meetings; attends and/or reads minutes of other scheduled meetings.
- Respects patient confidentiality and uses discretion in discussion of patient information.
- Must be able to represent self over the phone and in person in a professional manner.
- Demonstrates ability to coordinate, organize and effectively prioritize duties.
- Supports change. Shows initiative. Works in a spirit of genuine harmony with fellow workers.
Educational/Experience/Regulatory Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degree preferred.
- One year previous experience in comparable area.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment testing including but not limited to clerical ability and typing test.
- Advanced computer and computer applications knowledge.
- Ability to effectively create documents in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
Language Skills:
- Must be able to effectively read & communicate (orally and in writing) in English.
- Additional languages preferred.
