What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reserve-A-Ride Dispatcher position at Jackson Area Transportation Authority?
JATA is also seeking a Reserve A Ride Dispatcher to support daily transit operations. Working under the Operations Manager, this position communicates with drivers via two-way radio, monitors route progress, updates drivers on changes, responds to detours or weather issues, dispatches assistance during breakdowns or accidents, and ensures drivers report for their scheduled shifts. Duties also include maintaining vehicle tablets and supporting scheduling software. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, strong communication and organizational skills, basic computer knowledge, and a willingness to take responsibility.
