Job Summary
Jackie’s Place Group Home is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide daily care and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or behavioral health needs. DSPs play a critical role in helping residents maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and hygiene
- Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and medication reminders/administration (as permitted by policy)
- Maintain a safe, clean, and positive living environment
- Monitor and document residents’ behaviors, progress, and daily activities accurately and timely
- Transport residents to appointments, community activities, and outings as needed
- Encourage independence, social interaction, and participation in community engagement activities
- Follow individualized care plans and behavioral support plans
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and crisis situations
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, healthcare providers, and team members
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, agency policies, and confidentiality requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in caregiving, healthcare, mental health, or group home settings preferred but not required
- Compassionate, dependable, and able to work with individuals with varying support needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and any required state clearances
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (training may be provided)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, assist, and transfer residents when necessary
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
