Job Description: Associate Family Attorney

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients at hearings, trials, mediations, and arbitrations
• Handle complex cases involving divorce, child custody, domestic violence, substance abuse, and mental health issues
• Perform research, draft briefs, pleadings, motions, and memoranda
• Manage cases independently with the support of your dedicated paralegal
• Draft and argue Requests for Orders, responsive pleadings, and other litigation documents.
• Develop discovery strategy and draft and respond to discovery demands.
• Conduct advanced legal research and prepare persuasive briefs and motions.
• Draft prenuptial and postnuptial agreements and complex marital settlement agreements.
• Prepare judgments and other documents necessary to bring matters to resolution.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on trial strategy and actively participate in trial proceedings.
• Appear independently at hearings, status conferences, and other court proceedings.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and opposing counsel while serving as a trusted point of contact.
• Handle high-asset, high-conflict, and procedurally complex family law matters.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensure: Active Texas Bar membership
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years Texas family law litigation experience
• Key Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to handle a high caseload and manage time effectively.
• Empathy and cultural sensitivity when working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledge of foreign languages, especially Spanish, is often highly beneficial.
