Tire Retread Technician Job Description
Overview:
A Retread Technician performs functions from inspecting, preparing, and finishing in the remanufacturing of commercial tires in a variety of applications. These technicians are accountable for properly and safely performing a wide variety of services needed for all vehicles/commercial tires. Possibilities for advancement, along with management training.
Duties will include but not limited to:
- Inspecting and buffing worn tires for remanufacturing.
- Applying a variety of tread designs to tires prepared for remanufacturing.
- Finishing of completed product, including the handling and final steps in the remanufacturing process.
- Quality control of finished product.
- Tracking and monitoring data associated with the processing of tires throughout the retread process.
- Observing and complying with all safety and liability guidelines and policies.
- Using protective safety equipment to ensure safe operation of machines.
- Any other duties requested by management.
Requirements:
A Tire Retread Technician must have the desire to perform above and beyond the requirements set forth in this job description. Adheres to the Jack's Tire & Service policies and standards.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in manufacturing a plus, but we will train.
- Must be willing to follow all safety procedures and work in a safe manner.
- Complying with OSHA regulations and safety requirements.
- Must be able to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment as part of a team.
- Must be goal oriented and able to consistently meet quality and production requirements.
- Must possess a mechanical aptitude and energy.
- Lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
- Perform repeated and repetitive movement consistent within the tire industry.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
