Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Risk & Safety Supervisor, the EMT responds as necessary to all medical emergencies and requests for aid. Minimizes risk to persons and property while protecting company assets.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for the safety and well-being of guests and fellow team members.
- May be responsible for attendance at all training workouts and live races to provide any necessary medical assistance.
- Renders medical assistance as needed or requested.
- Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external guests
- Maintains inventory of medical equipment.
- Safeguards company assets, including team members and guests.
- Interviews, investigates and documents all applicable incidents in accordance with company policy.
- Prepares detailed reports as required.
- Controls and monitors to minimize risk and ensure a safe environment for guests and team members.
- Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
- Provides first aid, including CPR when necessary.
- Clean the equipment. Check and replace the used and damaged supplies.
- May assist as first responder to all medical emergencies for jockey injuries and illnesses.
- Any and all other job duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 21 years old at time of employment
- Valid driver’s license
- HEP-B series immunizations
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Must possess excellent customer and employee relations skills.
- Professional appearance
- Team player
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED
- Other certifications as needed
Required Certification/License
- Must be able to obtain an Ohio Lottery Commission gaming license
- Maintain current EMS certification
