Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and caring educator to serve as a full-time Jewish Studies teacher beginning in late August 2025.
Interested candidates must be able to collaborate with colleagues, plan student-centered lessons, and foster a growth mindset among their students. The successful candidate will infuse Jewish learning with joy and passion and build an inclusive classroom culture. They will be relationship builders, understanding that excellent teaching emerges from strong student connections. Ideal candidates should have a strong work ethic and enjoy teaching middle school and high school students with energy and enthusiasm. Jewish studies teachers often teach Jewish studies (which may include rabbinics, Jewish theology, ethics, life and culture, etc.) and Tanakh courses, lead a Shaharit group Monday-Thursday mornings, and serve as a student advisor.

Qualifications Include
- A bachelor’s degree with a strong background in educating middle and/or upper school students grades six through twelve. Master’s degree or rabbinic ordination candidates are preferred.
- A collaborative spirit and an ability to function as a member of a team with administrators, teachers, students, and parents
- A positive and strong work ethic, as well as adaptable and flexible
- Ability to differentiate instruction
- Interest in developing Jewish studies and Tanakh curricula in partnership with Jewish Studies faculty
- Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner
- Ability to teach and read Jewish sources utilizing original Hebrew text
- Growth-oriented and seeks opportunities for professional development.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills with experience in effective communication with parents, students, teachers, and staff
- Kindness, patience, and a healthy sense of humor
- Proficiency in the use of classroom technology, including but not limited to: Google Suite, learning management systems, and email management
