What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Acoustical Ceiling Tile (ACT) Subcontractor position at Jack Laurie Group?
The Jack Laurie Group has been serving Indiana since 1950 and is one of the largest commercial construction subcontractors in the region. Our Interiors Division specializes in steel framing, drywall, finishing, acoustical ceilings, painting, and trim carpentry. We are continuing to grow and are looking to partner with experienced ACT subcontractors in the Fort Wayne area.
We are seeking experienced Commercial Acoustical Ceiling Tile (ACT) Subcontractors for commercial projects throughout Fort Wayne and the surrounding areas.
Subcontractors must be able to:
Layout and install ceiling wire, wall angle, grid systems, and ceiling tile
Read and work from drawings, specifications, and reflected ceiling plans (RCPs)
Measure, cut, level, and install 2x2 and 2x4 ceiling systems
Cut and fit tile around obstacles and room perimeters
Work independently with minimal supervision when required
Maintain a professional appearance and quality workmanship on all projects
Commercial ACT installation experience required
Strong understanding of acoustical ceiling grid systems
Ability to accurately read plans and perform layouts
Must provide all necessary hand tools and equipment required to perform the work
Reliable transportation
Ability to communicate effectively with Superintendents and Project Managers
Must be safety-minded and maintain a drug-free work environment
Must be properly insured and able to meet subcontractor requirements
This opportunity is for experienced ACT subcontractors only. We are not looking for handymen or individuals looking to learn the trade.
