What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unit Secretary PAT Full Time position at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital?
Shift: 8:00AM - 4:30PM ET
Position Goal
The Unit Secretary is an essential member of the Patient Care Team who provides direct and indirect patient care as well as clerical support on the assigned unit.
Position Responsibilities
- Answers telephones in courteous, professional manner and accurately communicates messages
- Makes surgical charts
- Accurately transcribes orders and electronically completes order entries
- Performs typing and data entry functions
- Orders and maintains inventory of supplies
- Performs faxing and copying duties as needed
- Accurately files paperwork
- Courteously and promptly greets patients/visitors to the preanesthesia testing area.
- Directs patients to the Radiology and lab departments as appropriate.
- Assists the RN in obtaining and returning medical records.
Experience: 1 year hospital experience preferred
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required
Special Qualifications:
- Current BLS required
