Jack Hornsby Electric is looking for an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee commercial and industrial electrical construction projects throughout West Tennessee.
This is not an entry-level project management position. We're looking for someone who understands electrical construction from the field up and has the experience to manage projects, coordinate crews and contractors, work through technical issues, and keep jobs moving from kickoff through closeout.
Our project portfolio includes work for Kirkland Cancer Center, Ballad Health Micro Hospital, Georgia-Pacific, Novalex/Duro, and Pope K-8 School, giving our team the opportunity to work on substantial commercial and industrial projects across the region.
What You'll Own
As an Electrical Project Manager, you'll be responsible for keeping projects organized, profitable, and on schedule while serving as a key point of contact for customers and project partners.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage electrical construction projects from contract award through final closeout
- Coordinate project schedules, manpower, materials, subcontractors, and field activities
- Work closely with field leadership to keep installations progressing efficiently
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements
- Handle RFIs, change orders, permits, inspections, and project documentation
- Participate in project meetings and communicate regularly with customers, GCs, vendors, and inspectors
- Monitor job costs, budgets, labor, materials, and overall project profitability
- Identify potential project issues early and work with the team to develop solutions
- Maintain strong customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide direction and mentorship to Assistant Project Managers and field leaders
The Experience We Need
We're looking for an established electrical professional who can step into project ownership with confidence.
Qualified candidates should have:
- 7 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience
- 3 years managing electrical construction projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods and the NEC
- Ability to understand electrical plans, specifications, schedules, and scopes of work
- Familiarity with OSHA requirements and commercial/industrial construction practices
- Experience coordinating field crews, materials, contractors, and project schedules
- Strong understanding of project budgets, costs, change orders, and profitability
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple active projects while maintaining attention to detail
