Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organized Front Counter Clerk to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, manage sales transactions efficiently, and maintain a welcoming environment for all customers. This role involves engaging with customers both in person and over the phone, assisting with product inquiries, and supporting store operations to ensure a smooth shopping experience. Experience with POS systems, cashiering, and retail sales is preferred, along with strong communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs
• Operate POS systems accurately for sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
• Handle cash handling responsibilities with attention to detail and accuracy
• Provide product demos and upsell items to enhance customer experience and sales
• Maintain merchandising displays and stock shelves as needed
• Assist with stocking inventory and organizing the sales floor
• Answer customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
• Support supervising staff in daily store operations when required
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the front counter area
• Promote store promotions and special offers to maximize sales opportunities

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or grocery store environments is preferred
• Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and customer service expertise
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to assist a diverse customer base
• Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Supervising experience is advantageous but not required
• Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining excellent customer relations
• Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product demos is beneficial
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment with attention to detail
