What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant Teacher position at Jack and Jill Day School?
Jack & Jill Day School is looking for a loving, dependable Infant Teacher to join our team!
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys babies and understands that infant care is about much more than bottles and diaper changes. Our teachers spend their days talking, singing, reading, playing, cuddling, and creating age-appropriate experiences that help babies grow and develop.
We want our infant classroom to be a place where babies feel safe, loved, comfortable, and engaged—and where parents feel confident leaving their little ones each day.
What You’ll Do
- Provide warm, attentive, and responsive care to infants
- Follow individual feeding, sleeping, and care routines
- Prepare and give bottles and age-appropriate meals
- Change diapers and maintain excellent hygiene and sanitation
- Talk, read, sing, play, and interact with babies throughout the day
- Plan simple sensory, movement, and developmental activities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe infant classroom
- Follow safe-sleep and childcare licensing requirements
- Communicate with parents about their baby’s day, routines, milestones, and needs
- Work as part of a supportive childcare team
We’re Looking for Someone Who Is:
- Dependable and punctual — our children and team count on you!
- Patient, nurturing, attentive, and kind
- Comfortable caring for multiple infants
- Able to stay calm and organized in a busy classroom
- Willing to take initiative instead of waiting to be told what needs to be done
- A good communicator with parents and coworkers
- Willing to learn, accept feedback, and work as part of a team
- Passionate about providing high-quality childcare
Previous daycare, preschool, nursery, or infant-care experience is preferred, but we are also willing to consider the right person with a great attitude and a genuine desire to work with infants.
If you want a job where you can build real relationships with babies and their families and make a difference during some of the most important years of a child’s development, we would love to meet you!
Apply today and tell us a little about yourself and why you enjoy working with infants.
